A visit to the MRT station is always a learning experience for the boy. We would take the bus for one stop to the interchange where the station is. He likes being on the bus too, but not for a long time, so the longest we've gone on it is 15 mins.
At the interchange I will wait until all the other passengers have alighted, then let Boyboy walk down the bus himself (while I help). He is allowed then, to walk under the shelter to the MRT entrance without holding my hand ;)
He always freaks out at the MRT gantry, worried that the closing doors will 'kiap' him. If we're not in a hurry, I'll wait with him outside the gantry so he can watch others walk through the gantry and emerge unscathed. Else I'll just reassure him that it will not close so soon, and let him walk through in front of me.
Now Hubby and I are also trying to train (haha pun) Boyboy to use the escalators safely. He already knows to stay within the black area and avoid the yellow lines. BUT!!!!! He tends to move around once on the escalator, even trying to turn around, which gives me heart attacks. At the end he also lets his feet slide up the base instead of taking a step.
So... training still in progress. If traffic is high I'll carry him on the escalator instead of letting him walk.
We board at Punggol, so the train is empty. Boyboy usually sits at the end of the long row of seats, where he can people-watch safely. Today however, he insisted on sitting right in the middle of the row. I let him, but warned that there will be someone coming to sit with him because it was a busy period.
Haha... when that people swarmed in at Sengkang, he grabbed my arm so tight and held on as a lady sat beside him, then slided over to give her boyfriend the seat. Boyboy was disconcerted that the person 'kept changing'. He then proceeded to stare at and scrutinise the guy for the rest of the journey... luckily only 5 stops.
Boyboy was looking forward to playing on the dry playground at Kidzpark cos I told him about it. He has entered the climbing phase and gets a kick from conquering obstacles. But he was disappointed because the entire playground was dripping wet and full of wet kids in swimsuits.

Luckily I spotted a dog in the Pet Safari shop and we went in... Boyboy had fun stalking the dogs and their owners, as well as fiddling with all sorts of pet equipment. Didn't like that he actually went around the glass enclosure trying to scare the dogs :( Transplanted behaviour from home. Need more work in this area!!!

Overall Boyboy was still disappointed about the playground, and a bit scared off by the number of children crowding the place. He was also freaked out by the mega pail that upsets and splashes water from up high. Kept wanting to look for Papa, cos Papa had played with him in a swimming pool that had the same thing.
What finally cheered Boyboy up? Spotting 月亮婆婆 in the sky :))) As simple as that.

Oh, in between, Boyboy gave his usual demonic-possession performance at dinner time in the foodcourt. Spat out his food from the highchair, bit Mummy and tried to smack my face. Sigh....
It was late in the day, so ok, attribute it to his tiredness. Mummy's fault for keeping him out beyond his usual wind-down time. But before that logical Mummy came to the front, tired-emotional Mummy smacked the boy on his mouth for the bite :(
