To the zoo, to the zoo!

Boyboy has been asking to visit the zoo for weeks. Papa had a school holiday after National Day, so here we come!

Prepping his giraffe in the lift

As usual, the trip started with sandwiches for breakfast, usually tuna mayonnaise but today we had cheese spread and organic strawberry jam :89 We hit the road at 830 and reached about 9am. Yeah no crowds! Free unlimited tram rides too as we are Friends of the Zoo and it was a weekday.

Full of anticipation at zoo entrance

We went to watch the elephants bathe first at 915am, then tried to hold out for the giraffe feeding at 1045am. We've tried giraffe feeding twice, the first time Boyboy freaked out at their long slithery tongue and Mummy ended up feeding. Same thing happened to Papa the second time. So wanted to try again today.

But the boy tired quickly due to the hot sun and lots of walking. In the end we had to give the feeding a miss and cut short the trip. At least we accomplished Boyboy's goal: To let his toy giraffe meet the real giraffes ;)

Giraffe, meet the giraffes

Family photo haha

Oh, we passed this angmoh lady who was wearing a jumper with nothing inside!!! Her tits were dropping out. That got Boyboy's attention and the entire trip he kept looking out for that 'Ah Yi'. Aiyoh.....

Saw some interesting things this time round though.... spotted an enormous kingfisher!

Was so huge and plastic-ky looking that I thought it was fake, until it moved.

Zebras licking some sort of mineral block.
Baby penguin! The parent was so poor thing... the keeper came to the door to feed them fish, but it was guarding the baby and couldn't leave. The keeper came in to feed and only gave it ONE miserable fish. So bad >:(((
