Birthday celebration in playgroup

Today we celebrated Boyboy's birthday during his playgroup's teabreak.

Popo got all excited when I broached the idea and volunteered to provide the cake. Turned up with a 1.5kg eggless cake... For 15 little kids? The remainder can be distributed to the Venerables and staff she said. Ok lor. $75!!!!

My mum always likes to have more than enough, never just right, in case last minute there are more people and it becomes not enough. It's also about being generous and sharing with others to 接善缘 .

Cake shop forgot to hold the almonds :( Hope none of the kids are allergic!

Turns out it wasn't even enough cos some parents arrived early to pick up their kids and we had to give them a slice as well ;) And to think I had whined to her abt being too ostentatious.

Anyway, the boy had a great time! His teachers gave him extra attention today cos he's the birthday boy, and commented that he was a little different today. More enthusiastic and had more initiative, maybe cos he was excited about his birthday celebration.

I would like to create more opportunities for Boyboy to mix around with his peers. Realized he likes to socialize more with adults, even when he has the choice of children.

His playgroup is having an excursion next week during the school holidays to Pasir Ris Park to learn about Nature.

I would like him to take part, but the school is not allowing parents to join, and even have an indemnity clause on the consent form. Which doesn't reassure Mummy and Papa.

Especially when we know how active our son is. Can visualize the children running in all directions the moment they disembark from the bus haha....

Reconsidering my decision to let him sit this out. Perhaps I should let him join so he can experience being out without Mummy. Might help to 'de-stick' him from me ;)
